“Hanasawachi” started at Makino Botanical Garden(3/7/2012)

It was really coder winter in Japan this year, but nowadays we can feel spring is coming up day by day.
The 3rd Installation of Floral Panorama of Godaisan “Hanasawachi” in a garment of Spring flowers started from March 3rd at Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden in Godaisan Kochi city near our company. In the garden we can enjoy about 70 varieties’ 100,000 stems of “Hana=”flowers that are potted in “Sawachi” very big round tray. We feel we were in mid-spring already there.

Now main stars are various newest Tulips come from Westland-city in the Netherland with whom we Kochi Prefecture made a friendly partnership of horticulture. This event will open to June 10th. Main items will change to Lilies gradually later. Nakamura-Noen tried our effort to import these special varieties of bulbs. You must be satisfied with such beautiful flowers.
We proudly recommend you to visit there.
Your last opportunity will be our “ Lily Festa” from June 6th to 10th. Don’t miss both of them.

Remark ;

1, Sawachi ; Typical Kochi’s local decorating way of foods. We put many Sashimi, Sushi, Tempura etc. together on a big round tray, and we pick and share foods together. By doing it, we hope to strengthen the friendship more.

2, Makino Botanical Garden is a memorial garden of Dr. Tomitaro Makino, who is worldwide famous botanical scholar and was born just 150 year ago at
Sakawa-town in Kochi Prefecture. Our company’s founder Mr. Toshimichi Nakamura was born at same town as Dr. Makino, respected him so much. That’s why he was interested in flowers and plants, and wanted to study to get an occupation of flowers. It might be the origin of Nakamura-Noen.
